Transition from the old careers (PS, PE, PA…) to the new ones

Article 35 of the CCT SAS 2025 organises the transition for employees who were classified in the old careers in force before 2017 (PS1, PS5, PE1, PE4, PE6, PE7, PA1, PA3, PA4, PA5, PA6, PA7 and PAM3).

Acquired right

The employees concerned retain their old career expressed in points, as it was determined under article 23 of the CCT of the care and assistance sector and the social sector denounced on 29 September 2015. This is an acquired right that follows them even where a new employment contract is concluded (with the same or another employer).

Option to be reclassified into the new career

Since 1st October 2017, employees benefiting from this transitional provision may at any time opt to be reclassified into the new career according to the conversion table below.

  • The request is notified in writing to the employer with a minimum notice period of one month.
  • The reclassification takes effect on the first day of the month following the expiry of the notice period.
  • Classification into the new career is irreversible.

Conversion table

Correspondence between the old and new careers (Annex to article 35):

  • C1: PAM3 (without diploma), PA6 (qualification < 5th), PA7 (without diploma).
  • C2: PAM2 (craft/socio-family), PA5 (5th year of secondary + 2 years' experience).
  • C3: PAM1 (DAP/CATP), PA4 (technician/master craftsman's certificate/etc.), PE6 (instructor educator), PE7 (socio-educational assistant CATP), PS5 (care assistant).
  • C4: PA3 (secondary certificate/engineer technician), PE4 (instructor educator, end of secondary studies), PE5 (qualified educator).
  • C5: PS4 (nurse).
  • C5* (specialised BTS): PS2 (midwife, surgery ATM, anaesthetist nurse, masseur), PS3 (psychiatric nurse, paediatric nurse), PS4 specialised (radiology ATM, laboratory ATM).
  • C6: PE3 (graduate educator), PS1 (social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, graduate hospital nurse, laboratory technician, dietician, psychomotor therapist, speech therapist, curative pedagogue).
  • C7: PA1 (university administrative/logistics/technical), PE1 (university socio-educational).
